An Edinburgh charity had almost 30 mobile phones on different networks and different tariffs.
We were asked to review the various mobile phone bills and ensure that they were getting best value for money.
Solution
- We identified a number of calling groups where the members in each group called each other regularly.
- We arranged for all the mobile phones to be put on the same network with a number of group talkplans corresponding to the calling groups.
- As part of our service we carried out all administration required to switch the phones to the same network and ensured that each individual kept their own phone number.
With the chosen network calls between the individual phones in a group talkplan are free.
As a result of our recommendations we reduced the charity’s mobile phone bill by over 30%.
We are now in the process of renewing the handsets for each individual.
Some staff will receive basic phones and others will be provided with Windows mobile devices with email and access to word processing and spreadsheet functions.
