An Edinburgh Estate Agent is involved in the marketing of Bulgarian properties to the UK market.

They decided to open an office in Bulgaria to enable UK enquiries to be processed more efficiently.

The Estate Agent wanted to advertise the properties in the UK and publish a UK free-phone number for sales enquiries.

They wanted calls on the UK free-phone number to be answered by the office in Bulgaria.

The Estate Agent asked Premitel for our advice on the best way of doing this.

The obvious solution was to purchase a UK free-phone number with an international call divert to Bulgaria.

However, this would be a very expensive with each incoming call costing the Estate Agent about £0.50 per minute.

Solution

We proposed a much cheaper solution using the internet to route the call from the UK to Bulgaria.

Instead of routing the UK free-phone number to a Bulgarian phone number we arranged for calls to the free-phone number to be routed to an internet VoIP phone number.

This internet phone number could be used anywhere in the world as long as there was a broadband internet connection.

All that was required was an inexpensive internet VoIP phone adaptor.

We pre-programmed the adaptor and sent it to the Bulgarian sales office.

They simply plugged the adaptor into their broadband router and they were able to receive calls from the UK free-phone number.

With this solution the cost of the incoming calls was reduced from £0.50 per minute to £0.05 per minute!

We also equipped their Edinburgh office with a similar adaptor and now calls between the Edinburgh office and the Bulgarian office are free.

We advised the Estate Agent that they could issue different free-phone numbers for different Bulgarian developments and that these could be routed to the same internet phone number.

The caller display on the Bulgarian phone would indicate the free-phone number that is being used.

The customer therefore has an indication of which property development the caller is interested before answering the call and enables the person answering the call to deal with the call more professionally.
