After installing a phone system for an Edinburgh hotel we were subsequently asked to provide wireless internet access for use by staff and guests.

Solution

• Recognising that a single wireless access point would not been sufficient to cover the required area in the hotel and its grounds, we designed a network of high power wireless access points to give coverage throughout the hotel.
• The wireless network was connected to the hotel’s existing computer network and shared their existing broadband internet connection

The hotel group has management staff that visit the indvidual hotels regularly and they carry wireless enabled laptops.

Wireless internet access at each hotel would make it much easier for staff to check their email and carry out other administrative tasks during their stay.

Therefore after implementing this network we were asked by the hotel group owners to install a similar system at the other hotels in the group.

At present wireless hotel guests and visitors can access the wireless network free.

We are in the process of developing a system that will enable the hotel to charge for wireless internet access.
