An Edinburgh property development company were moving into new offices and they asked Premitel to provide a complete telecommunications and IT infrastructure.
There were 20 members of staff, many of whom worked out of the office regularly.
Solution
- We installed a Cat 5 cabling system for their phone system and local area computer network.
- We set up a secure wireless network.
- We supplied and installed a digital phone system with direct dialling in, voicemail and advanced call routing features (e.g. to staff mobiles if they were out of the office).
- We installed a local area computer network based on Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 for email, file sharing, printer sharing, and controlled internet access.
- We equipped staff working out of the office with Blackberry mobile phones using the Blackberry Internet Solution (BIS). This enables staff to process their email when out of the office.
- We liaised with service providers such as BT and the company’s suppliers to ensure that the client could focus on other aspects of the office move.
Our next task is to implement the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) to enable better synchronisation between the Blackberry mobile device and the various office services such as email, calendar, tasks and contacts.
